Spirit quartz, only found in South Africa, also known as cactus quartz or porcupine quartz, is an unusual member of the quartz family. The crystal's core is comprised of hundreds of tiny termination points, which, like tiny mirrors, take the main stone's energy and amplify it over and over again. Amethyst or purple spirit quartz in particular can be a spiritual aid for the dying, or can bring comfort to those who have lost a loved one.
