Hi, I'm Hanna!
Welcome! I'm a Detroit-born, Los Angeles–based jewelry designer, metalsmith, lapidary artist and adventurer. I have always been inspired by my family's lineage of artists and crafters. For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to making things with my hands, from drawing, to painting, to ceramics. I have been making and crafting jewelry for over 20 years, though the styles have changed from the seed beads and fimo clay I started with. Today my creations are made with high-quality precious stones, crystals and metals. Each one-of-a-kind piece is made with love and has its own unique healing properties. I encourage you to use your intuition and pick a handmade piece that speaks to you!
Behind the Scenes
Sourcing
I am super passionate about sourcing all of my gemstones and crystals. Whether I’m going out into nature and finding them, traveling around the world collecting them or buying them directly from the miners themselves, all of my stones are ethically sourced. Over the years, I have built strong relationships with miners from all over the world, including Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, Australia and all over the US.
Rockhounding & Mining
Rockhounding is the act of exploring nature to look for and collect rocks, crystals, minerals and gemstones. I love that Mother Earth has so many beautiful gifts to share— connecting with her is my happy place. I’ve traveled all over California, Oregon, Arizona and more hunting for crystals and gems. Then I get to frame her beautiful work into wearable pieces for you!
Travel & Adventure
I am obsessed with going on adventures all over the world. Every adventure that I embark on, I bring my jewelry with me to photograph and to soak up the energy of that special place. For example, I took my Mexican Cantera Opal Rings and bathed them in the healing waters of Hierve El Agua in Oaxaca. Most recently, I took my icy blue Turquoise Rings to bathe in the glacial water in Patagonia, Argentina. Last year, I went on an epic adventure to Mongolia to learn how to hunt with Eagles on horseback and yep, I brought my jewelry there, too. I also love exploring the US— I’m particularly drawn to and inspired by the Southwest.
Lapidary
Lapidary is the practice of shaping gemstones into cabochons, to be set into jewelry! These skills include cutting, grinding and polishing the gemstones. My great uncle was a lapidary artist and this was always a craft that I wanted to learn! I’m so grateful that I was recently taught by my dear friend. I LOVE cutting and shaping gems, especially the ones that I find myself.
Metalsmithing
Metalsmithing is the process of creating jewelry through the manipulation of various metals. These skills include forming, shaping, sawing, drilling, soldering, texturing, stamping and more. My private metalsmithing studio in my home is one of my favorite places to spend my days. I love waking up, rolling out of bed, making coffee and getting to work!
